Fujita Scale — a scale for rating tornado intensity, based principally on the damage done to structures and trees. Meteorologists and engineers typically determine the official Fujita scale category after an exhaustive aerial and ground-level damage survey. The scale ranges from F0 (light damage with winds under 73 mph) to F4 (devastating damage with winds from 207 to 260 mph).
